How to take measurments

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how to take bust, waist, and hip measurements to determine your true size:

1. Bust/Chest Measurement

  • Step 1: Stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides.
  • Step 2: Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the fullest part of your bust.
  • Step 3: Ensure the tape is parallel to the ground and not too tight—there should be a snug fit but not uncomfortable.
  • Step 4: Take the measurement in inches or centimeters and note it down.

2. Waist Measurement

  • Step 1: Find your natural waistline, which is typically located just above your belly button and below your rib cage.
  • Step 2: Stand straight and relax your stomach.
  • Step 3: Wrap the measuring tape around your waist at this point, ensuring it is level and snug without digging into your skin.
  • Step 4: Record the measurement.

3. Hip Measurement

  • Step 1: Stand with your feet together.
  • Step 2: Locate the fullest part of your hips. This is generally around the widest part of your buttocks.
  • Step 3: Wrap the measuring tape around your hips at this point, making sure it is straight and level.
  • Step 4: Take the measurement and write it down.

Tips:

  • Use a Mirror: Check in a mirror to ensure the tape measure is straight and level.
  • Get Help: If possible, ask a friend to help you take the measurements for better accuracy.
  • Measure in Your Undergarments: For the most accurate measurements, wear form-fitting undergarments or do it over a fitted shirt.
